Our visit from Harold

This week our friend Harold brought Kaaren to school to talk to us about our lungs and what we need to have to be happy and healthy! It was great to learn in the big caravan. We learnt about how we breath in oxygen and we get oxygen from trees and how we breath out carbon dioxide. Kaaren and Harold also told us about the 9 things we need to be happy and healthy - do you remember what these 9 things are?! n

Cooking with Paty

On Friday we had Discovery Time. Paulina's mum came to do some cooking with us using the cauliflower from the garden! We all had a turn at chopping, cooking, slicing, mixing and tasting! We made a Mexican dish called Butter Caulifower! It was delicious!

Colour!

We made these colour wheels. We learnt that there are hot colours: yellow, red and orange. We also learnt about cold colours: blue, green and purple. Next we made these Taniwhai using our Drama of 'The Taniwhai and the 3 Woolly Coats Fluff' as inspiration. We coloured our Taniwhai by using complimentary colours. These colours are opposite on the colour wheel: red and green, yellow and purple, blue and orange. Haven't we produced quality work!

In the weekend...

These handsome boys have been working hard on their writing. Their goals for writing are to: write across the line, use finger spaces, use their alphabet card to help write tricky words and letter sounds. They were so proud when they got sent to Mrs Te Amo to show off their author skills! Didn't they do well!
Being the best we can be on PhotoPeach We have been talking about being 'kind and responsible for ourselves, each other and our environment'. We took photos of us following and not following this statement. Can you tell which person in the photo is and isn't?

Our Dance

Last term we explored dance with Dean. We learnt about rhythms and beats, half time, in time and double speed. We learnt about how we can be creative with our bodies by ourselves or in a group. We created our dance, this is called choreography, we will share our dance, this is called execute. We hope you, as our audience, enjoy our dance!

St Jame's Day and Grandparents Day

We had a lovely time of Friday combining our Feast Day with Grandparents Day. We celebrated with a liturgy and a shared lunch, followed by an amazing show case of Talents organised by Mrs Cawood. We shared the dance we had been learning with Dean. We loved our special day! Our Feast Day and Grandparents Day on PhotoPeach

We love learning about the Kiwi.
We planned our report using a is, has, lives and does model.
We are all trying hard to use facts and information to keep our writing interesting.
